The BPTW™ Annual Survey captures feedback, insights and viewpoints from your employees across nine pillars spanning all aspects of their experience. The feedback is compiled into a dashboard, allowing you to easily view your results.

Once the survey concludes, you'll receive a benchmarking report that compares your organisation's results with those of similar-sized businesses.

How it works

Sign Up

Sign your organisation up for the BPTW™ Annual Survey. We’ll provide a Survey Toolkit that contains your unique survey link plus marketing and promotional collateral.

Additional Pulse Surveys can be purchased and run at times of your choosing throughout the year. Pulse Surveys are independent of the Awards.

Measure

Share your survey link with your employees. Once you start the survey your employees will have 14 days to submit their responses. A minimum of 60% of your workforce must complete the survey to qualify for the BPTW™ Awards. The survey should take around 8-10 minutes to complete.

Assess

Within 5 days of starting the survey, you’ll have access to a live dashboard to track your results in real time. Once we have collated all the data, you’ll receive your benchmarking report, where you can measure your employee experience against the best in New Zealand.

Pulse Surveys are an excellent way to proactively check progress, track improvements, and gain real-time insights into your employee experience. They support smarter, faster decisions on employee-related initiatives, align leaders on the priorities that matter the most, and support continuous engagement and growth.

Pulse Surveys are designed to complement the BPTW™ Annual Survey. They aren’t benchmarked against other organisations and are independent of the BPTW™ Awards.

You can run up to two Pulse Surveys throughout the year, and add up to three customised questions per survey.

FAQ

What information do I receive when I purchase the survey?

You’ll receive a Survey Toolkit that includes everything you need: your survey link, step-by-step instructions, comms and email templates to communicate with your people about the survey, and marketing materials such as a participant badge, social media graphics and content.

How long do we have to complete the survey?

We recommend giving your people 14 days to complete the survey. A minimum of 60% employee participation is required if you wish to enter the BPTW™ Awards.

How long does it take to complete the survey?

It takes between 8-10 minutes to complete.

When will I receive my dashboard?

You’ll get access to your live dashboard within 5 working days after you start the survey. This is to ensure enough data has been captured to maintain confidentiality in the responses.

Who can see my organisation’s results?

Only you will have access to your own organisation’s results. BPTW uses the data only in aggregate form to create benchmarks and determine the shortlist, finalists, and winners.

How confidential is the survey?

The survey is confidential, and you only see aggregated data. BPTW only uses aggregated results in compiling Dashboards and Benchmarking.

How do we qualify for the Awards?

The threshold for being selected for the shortlist will be determined by the aggregated results of the Annual Survey and shortlisted organisations will be invited to enter the Awards. A minimum of 60% of your workforce must complete the survey to qualify for the Awards.

How are the Awards finalists and winners chosen?

Your survey results and Awards submissions are used to decide the finalists and winners by our selected expert panel of judges. You can read more about our Awards process and judges bestplacestowork.nz/awards.

Do we include overseas employees?

No, the BPTW survey is for New Zealand-based employees only. However, if you subscribe to our Pulse Survey model, you can extend the Pulse Surveys to your global team.

What are the Pulse Surveys?

Pulse Surveys are an excellent way to spot-check progress and track improvements within your employee experience initiatives, ensuring continuous engagement and growth. They have been designed to complement the BPTW Annual Survey and you can run up to two Pulse Surveys throughout the year at times that suit you. You can also add up to two customised questions per survey. 

Pulse Surveys are purely for your organisation and are ideal for staying proactive and gaining real-time insights between your survey submissions. They aren’t benchmarked against other organisations and do not form part of entry to the awards.
