Why do you think Best Places to Work is important? 

People are at work for a huge proportion of their week (and their lives) and the workplace is one of the biggest influences on their wellbeing as well as how they go home to their families and communities every day. As businesses, we need to continually improve how we care, nurture, and develop our people so they experience goodness, joy, and satisfaction at work. The BPTW awards remind us of this, place a spotlight on what other inspiring workplaces are doing, and tell us that we can always improve!


Why did you enter the Survey? 

Speaking on behalf of Taxi: As a new venture, it is critical for us to develop our culture on purpose and in line with the DNA that Tax Traders is known for. It is especially important to us that the workplace is psychologically safe as this is where true innovation happens. The Survey gave us a chance to see how we were tracking in key measurements and celebrate this, as well as give an opportunity for feedback on where we could do better. We wanted to learn as much as we could.


Briefly discuss what makes your business a best place to work 

Both Tax Traders and Taxi benefit from a solid foundation of DNA. Everything we do is driven by purpose and when it comes to our workplace, we start with love, affection, care, and connection and then layer on autonomy and mastery. Everything else layers on top of this solid foundation, whether that is incredible parental policies, our strong innovative approach, our beautiful office, the annual “Tax Camp” retreat, wellbeing month, our bespoke internal progression framework, our focus on learning, flexible leave, our onboarding and offboarding, team rituals or anything else that our people love. It all starts with purpose, and it is all underpinned by love.
